About
Digital Dreamz is my own place on the web. This is where I can practise all my HTML and graphic making skills, share information about me and all the things I like/hate, get together all my favourite links, talk about what's going on in my world, which the readers can either read or totally ignore, which seems like the best thing to do, lol.
History
While browsing through a lot of great personal sites, I got inspired to make one myself. I was a stranger to HTML then and made my first ever site on Freewebs, probably the same as most web designers. Slowly, I started to learn HTML all on my own, and believe me, I didn't have a lot of patience. Back then, I used to get chuffed if I changed the font face and colour. I changed over to Geocities where I started making my own layouts and adding more content. Six months later, I thought that the services available from geocities were pretty limited. I didn't really have stuff like a cgi-bin which I could use, and I couldn't use FTP with geocities. Uploading new stuff was a pretty painful task...so that's when I had a brilliant idea of getting hosted. I visited some of my fav sites to see if they were hosting, but most of them weren't. Then I came across e-lusion.net and thought "that's a nice name, lemme try my luck here." And now here I am, finally settling down in what I hope is a more permanent and comfy home than my previous hosts.
The Name
My first site was named 'Planet D'. I thought of it after visitng a music shop called Planet M and thought "why not have a D planet!" It was short, simple and perfect. After moving to e-lusion, I wanted a more imaginative name. I knew it had to have Digital in it because I'm obsessed with that word ever since my childhood passion for Digimon
. Dreams are lovely, strange things which occur to you when you're sound asleep. And the word was the perfect addition to my site name. Digital Dreamz means dreams which you can create and control yourself....because it's digital (get me?)
